Mini album, stack the deck principle

Hello everyone,

I want to finally share this mini album I have been making . It took me quite some time because blue is not really my colour  to work with . But the person I made it for loves blue and butterflies . So this is the resultof my efforts :

The album is made with 6 standard size white envelopes  (6 by 2,8 inches or 15 by 11 cm ) and according to the stack the deck principle ( Laura Dennison from The Paper Trail ) . I have used a brown ink pad to distress the edges and I have used my Rose punch , little butterfly punch , border punches , my butterfly die from Cottage Cutz  , my MFT Flourish die , my Quinn Flourish from Memory Box ( thank you Kathy for your information !  Another package is on its way ! ),  lace and ribbon , pearls and rhinestones .

This is the cover seen from sideways : Some jewels and a little note  pad and a wooden heart . The cover is made from 3 peaces of strong package material ( boxes ) , cut to size , a little bigger than the envelopes .

The lace ribbon is attached to a Journal note that I printed off the Internet and it can be taken out of the blossoms . I cut these blossoms out of...... wallpaper : 3 times to adhere with foam pads to get some dimension .

This is how my album looks when opened :

And the next pages :  with a crocheted flower, which reminds me I should make some more . There is place to hold some notelets .

The left side opens up , and offers more place for pictures or journaling.

 It continues as followed:

A small card made from Jane Shasky CD is tucked under a ribbon .

Cottage Cutz butterflies , so nice to work with , very delicate .
And as you see each rounded flap is actually a take out card  for pictures

Each envelope also contains an extra mat, cut with decorative scissors.

Self made stickpins and flowers with tiny beads .

My last page:

 Some extra details :

I hope you like it , if you find the time comments are very much appreciated , for my next post I will have some cat cards,  coloured sticker cards and  some small  pergamano try out ,thank very much for your  visit !

Goodnight to all of you , take care ,

Hugs, Rosa

From the heart of the garden

A warm Hello to all of you !

So Winter has not forgotten us , and as I am no fan of it ( and as it also increases my chronic terrible nerve pains , I hope it will be over soon . In the mean time I 've tried to get some order in my small creative space and I also have made some cards .

I have bought the double paper craft CD ROM " from the heart of the garden " designs by Jane Shasky at www.joannasheen.com . This is so gorgeous ! I don't know which one to begin with , but I chose for the roses and heart . Excuse me , for the bad pictures, I can not get them any better , the lighting is very bad , although I've taken them out side ,the weather has been too dark weather , and I did not want to use flash.
This is how it looks when it 's open :

This is the front of the card .  I used some wire to " hang" the tin basket .

When the little butterfly is turned then the small card opens too:

When I make cards , I take some of them to my mother , she likes to hold them . And usually she does not want to let go . So I would like to share these pictures . My mother is declared demented, 1998, when she was 70 , ( it began silently- invisible  to the outside world when she was 65) I was forced to take her to the home in November 2007 ( we lived together ), she broke her heap in 2010 and stays in bed for the last two years now , she is 84 now . She still recognizes me very well .
This picture is taken about a month ago .

Now why isn't my mother grey ? Well she lost all of her hair in just about a week in 1993 ,probably due to some medication , and she did not want to have a biopsy done and so she has been waring a wig , and though we tried to go over to grey so often, but it just didn't work and so this colour suited her , me and the lady of the store .

Then I chose this one : and made two cards keeping it simple as some of my friend likes it clean :

The front page again :

And nr 2 :

This tea-cup card , I made for another friend of mine :

with some tea sachets inside of the card .

Next up was a card for someone to give to her granddaughter, I had it in my 3 D stash for a while and used one of my lace border punches .

And these next two came along by going through my stash :

Looking at these pictures of my cards I am in a summer mood already !!!
but here is one that coordinates with the current weather , and this is very like me : I love heat !

So sorry, I am short in my descriptions , but the pain is too severe to type much more .
Hugs,and take care ,

Rosa

Snowmen cards and cardholders

Hello everyone, its been quite a while again, but I had to wait until my glasses were made .

First I want to expess my deep sorrow for the family's of Newtown , so many lives that are damaged , again . It will take forever to live with the losses . I can only say that , in this unstabil world with people turning crazy, and violence around every corner , do enjoy the company of your loved ones at all times .

I believe that the difficult times we are living in right now are the "hard times to go through " as the bible refers to at 2 Tim 3: 1-7 :

Online Bible
NEW WORLD TRANSLATION OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES:

1But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self‐assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,3having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self‐control, fierce, without love of goodness,4betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,5having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.6For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires,7always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

But I also believe three are better times  to come  .
I want to share some things I made in the last weeks ,  (except for when my glasses broke )  I 'm sorry for the poor quality of these pictures , I had to take several of them inside with flash .
I adhered this beautiuful backing paper to my card , but cut a window . The window closes by being held by the button  . To em bellish I used a die , cut with my double do , and somle rhinestones and a jewel hanger . Inside is a hand cut 3D image.

Last week I got a present from someone , 3 small books with 3
D cutting files and also these 3D cutting labels : After I cut them , by hand , I inked the edges and embellished them a bit . A nice small gift , but much appreciated . I left some spaces blank to adjust to the occasion .

More snow men cards :

And another window card , I cut out the area and adhered acylic sheet for the window , and used gold sticker lines on the acrylic to make the window . A 3D file and diecut swirl from MFT .

I also made  two gift sets : Two card holders with 4 cards , using my alphabet stamps and die cut machine. Each card is a single card that fits in the red die cut card holder that was cut with my die cuts and double do .

I embellished the front cover more after I took the picture , but wasn't able to picture it again .

 My second set :

As you see here I have spilled some ink , stamping the snowflake , it is very hard to stamp clearly , lying down , as I can not sit long enough .

The back of this card :

So this is it , I hope you enjoy you're holiday's and I hope to be back with some more paper crafts . A never ending card and a mini album are what I have in mind . Till then, take care ,

Hugs, Rosa
