2012 is a year full of jubilee cards

Hello everyone,

Believe it or not but this year some of the people I know since  my childhood are celebrating their 45 years , 50 years and  even 60 years of marriage ( two couples  ) !

The first one of 50 was last sunday .

So the last two weeks I made a few cards for the 50 year jubilee . One for myself and four that friends of mine asked to make for the same couple .The cards are sized to half an A 4 page .
Here is the first :

Two ovals with the same image but reversed in colour . The folding idea and the 3D file came from a 3D magazine . The heart I fastened on the upper side is actually a table card .

The second one I used lace to surround my image and I hand stitched small beads with silver Madeira thread on the lace frame . A green ribbon with a hanger runs through two slits in the card. On the bottom of my ribbon a small plate with again the small beads that surround two pearls .

My third cars is a stepper card, with vintage roses , glitter glued here and there , a punched border , and on the right side paper with a lover's verse and golden wishes stickers , a gold loosely woven ribbon tied at the bottom with a small piece of lace .

Next card is an easel card.  I stamped all the roses , flowers and leaves separately and glued them on a heart shape ( an idea I saw somewhere on the web ) and attached to a hand cut shape. I coloured the small flowers and added pearls . Also added little sheer tied ribbons  in between .On the side pink rhinestones and  for he upper border I used a pearl maker . I do have to practice that some more !

My last card for this jubilee is a color plate I free downloaded from internet . I cut out the heart and coloured the roses . Then I used some golden leftovers from stickers to embellish the corners of the small hearts as well as the bigger one . Adhered patterned paper on the inside . Worked off with golden sticker borders ,( forgot to take a picture of that ) ,

And my social help at home has left for Peru last Sunday to see her parents after six years . She asked me to make something to hold the only two wedding  pictures she has from her parents who are also married for nearly 60 years! ( She made copies of course , so the real ones stay with her )
This is what I made : It"s sort of a small book . I made a belt to surround and close it .

I stamped the belt with some flower curls .And embellished the sides with golden sticker sides .
I used two gold coloured buttons and a sheer purple ribbon to tie together .

I used my oval punch to make the background for the picture and added  rhinestones . At the bottom side is a handle fastened with a small brad . When it is opened they can use the extra pages for
journaling or photo's .

I made a flower from a shear peace of fabric and glued a prime rose in it . And also fastened a small chain with bead on it . Actually it is a broken earring as I recall now .
This is the other corner . Also a flower with black and gold bead and two buttonson the picture.
Here the extra page lifts up .

This is the actual inside of the card .On the right I used the rose punch . on the left I stamped some flowers above the page .

On the middle side I  made  a pocket to hold an envelope which  I embellished with ribbon and punched out border, patterned paper . A hand crocheted rose with brad  is fastened to the black card , that can be taken out.of the pocket. See next photo's.
,

This black card opens up and gives room for the great grandchildren to put in pictures or journaling .

This is the back of the envelope pocket , as it can be taken out of the card too.  I glued a small  peace of acrylic band to the bottom of the back to also form  a little pocket so another  card with stamped bird with heart can also be taken out and be of use .

I' ll leave you to it ... It is now way  past mid night and my  bed is calling. .

I hope to be back soon . Until then, take care ,

Hugs , Rosa

Neverending cards with hidden pockets

Hello everyone,

As I promised in my last post I will now show the 3 neverending cards I was asked to make some weeks ago .
An ex-colleague of mine wanted one for her son and two for her daughters , all married and with children . Hence the hidden pockets .

This is the first one :

The two middle parts have a pocket with a tag in each fastened with a security pin , but when the pin is taken off , that pocket opens up to another pocket .

When the card flips , the two other middle parts are left blank for pctures as was specifically asked .

 It then flips again ,

And a last time , showing two hearts that are really only a belt that can be taken off to un reveal the hidden two pockets on either side .

Up to the second one : The two middle parts for the pictures .

 The two other sides for the pictures ;

When the card is flipped over again , there are two hidden pockets on the small sides .

And flipping it again it has two envelopes , that close with twine .

My third card :Again the middle parts for pictures , but these middle mats open up and hide two pockets underneath : they close with Velcro

When flipped to the second side I attached two small envelopes to the middle parts

Flipping to the third side there is again room for pictures ,

as also on the fourth side:

So this was very much fun to make and very, very easy , although it looks complicated . It did take me a lot of time to embellish though . The cards , I forgot to tell you,  measure 20 cm by 20 cm .

I also crocheted a tea light holder cover , but as I have been  searching for the pictures the past half hour , I came to the conclusion I didn't take pictures of it yet !  So I will share it with you on my next post .

Take care,

Hugs, Rosa
