New binding tecnique for mini- albums

Hello friends , this is my last post for this year, wishing you all joy full holidays !

I saw the video , stack the deck from Laura from Follow the papertrail .http://youtu.be/5Z_6pe2ZhDI .

And I love this binding method , so I gave it a try and this is the result : Here is my cover :

I stamped a butterfly on patterned paper and made a flower of a peace of white linen and I crocheted the rose , made a stickpin an put it all together

I also made a heart shaped booklet out of old book pages , distressed it and by sewing added the 4 pages together.

I created a pocket , for the tag with the butterfly .

My mini - album closes with pinches and a chain on which I fastened a pearl .

Here is page one : Pocket on the inside cover embellished with a ribbon .

Two insert tags per envelope ( 6 envelopes used - glued to the stacked binding -see tutorial . I'm  sorry I've tried to link it but it doesn't work ) All envelopes and patterned  papers and inserts are distressed . I used a Martha steward punch ( lace ) for one insert and for the insert with flap I used my rose and leave border and corner punch . Lots of room for pictures !

Page 3 & 4 : Again made a combined flower of paper and crocheted rose and the little  bird is a cut out which I glued on .

Page 5 & 6 : A ticket on left side above and a pocket on the bottom of the page . Need to make some tags .

Added a small butterfly on the right page under the flap . The designer paper with old dutch poems is from  Marianne design .

Page 7 & 8 :

I  made a small envelope with two small tags .

Page9 &10 :

Page 11 & 12 :

I cut the Marianne design paper off where the roses ended and glued an  envelope under it to make the pocket . The tag in it is a bible verse of 1 Cor: 13: 4-8 the definition of christian  love . So beautiful !
On the right page I glued a name-tag which I folded down the middle. And therefore creates  another small pocket for a little tag I still need to make .

And then these are  the last pages : With a vintage lace as a pocket .

I fastened my drawing pen , which I used with Chinese ink , from when I was a child , to it .  So it is about 50 years old  . Finally got it out of my drawer an I think it has found the right place here !

This is how the book looks closed .

And this is how it looks sideways .

So this is it for now , will  be back in January . Enjoy the seasons holidays and take care !

Wintertime

Hello friends,

It is now late Sunday afternoon, I hope you had a nice weekend !

I am sad,  because again someone who was dear to me has passed away . Another widow going to have a rough time . They were such a warmhearted couple , always together .

My title wintertime has nothing to do with the weather here in Belgium at the moment . Which I am not mad about because I hate winter and snow .

but I do have some more winter cards to share :

This is a tag pocket card

I have hand stitched the sides of the little white embossed  tag holder .

This next one is made  of a bought precut paper die , which you have to wind all around with fine Madeira thread . In the middle I placed my snowmen and further embellished my card with punched out snowflakes .

This card is made using different layers of background , one made with a round die cut punch .
.

Some twine around the topper , a single flower with small red brad .

For the next card I hand cut a tag shape in patterned paper which I embellished with glitter glue here and there and then applied the  the 3D cutting file with a lace flower with two very old buttons on the left and a small heart on the right .

I also used an old button to make my tag "hanging".

And this is again a shape winded with fine Madeira thread ,

a 3 D cutting file , very delicate cutting !

a prima rose and some leaves ,
 Detail of the flower ,
and a small envelope with card .Some ribbon to the finishing touch and two gold sticker borders .
A small gold paper punched flower with button inside the cutout star.

And here you can see the multicoloured Madeira thread .

So this is it for today, I hope you all have a nice week , happy crafting and take care ,

Hugs, Rosa

An origami starbox and more wintercards

Hi , everyone, a new week has begun . I read the sad story on lilibean's paperie  about
Katie Renz.. I wish to express my  deepest sympathy  for her family. I did not know her blog .

Recently I discovered  a blog , called Wenches Kort og Papir , where I found such beautiful creations : this is the link :
DT Ett Trykk - Gave nr 3, august 2011
I liked the star box so much I searched you tube and found some tutorials on how to origami fold the box . I used two sided patterned paper, size 30 cm by 30 cm or 12" by 12",  made the box and then I embellished it . I used a Martha Steward punch and distressed the punched parts before I glued them to the sides . Some prime roses and pink pearls, a tag were added to the sides .

This flower I made from  a  ribbon, I pleated double and stitched one side , gathering it together by pulling the thread , forming the rose  . I glued a primrose to the middle .

Now I also have some wintry cards to share with you.

I lightly distressed the edges , Stamped the upper side with a  frost lined stamp in gold ink . A small peace of old music paper and twine , and a 3D  cutting file . Some embellishments and pearls .

For the next card I used some lace and hand stitched pearls around it .

 Also used a 3D picture .

My last card :

Lace and a piece of jewelry ,
 some glitter glue ,

and again my 3 D picture .

The winter cold has stricken down and it effects my pain in such a way that it is very tiring . So this post is short in writing , I hope to be able to craft this week . Talk to you later , ............love, Rosa
